Our Thoughts

Ok, I might be the only non-financial advisor of our group, but I've picked up a few things along the way (buzzwords, mostly), and recently I've noticed the same forms being brought up in conversation again and again. Keep in mind, I'm the paperwork prep-er, so they all come across my desk. Here's the trend according to form titles:

  • Journal Request
  • Check/EFT/Bank Wire Request
  • IRA One-Time Distribution Request

For those that already know these forms and what they do, forgive me, as I quickly break this down. All of them move assets, whether cash or otherwise. The reason they've all been flying across my desk, recently? 2014 just ended and 2015 is just beginning.

As we’ve mentioned on our Facebook page, our focus for December was Gifting & Harvesting, with work bonuses coming in for our clients and last-minute charitable contributions going out. Now it’s January of 2015 and people are making their New Year’s Resolutions, many of which are financial. They’re setting up their retirement plans and putting their assets to work. The money is moving, and we’re all gearing up for a successful 2015… and as long as the money is moving, I’ll be keeping these forms at-the-ready to make their flight across my desk.

If you have any Financial Resolutions you need help conquering feel free to give us a call or swing by our office.
